Life

Curly ringlets of pure spun gold,

Dimpled chin, she’s seven years old.

She skips through life without a care,

Laughing and tossing her lovely hair.

She knows disappointment, has cares a-plenty,

She’s ready for life, she now is twenty.

Her beautiful face, still lively and fair

Tho brown has replaced her golden hair

But life is still sweet,

For two little kiddies now play at her feet.

Middle-age is not so bad

She has the kiddies, she has their dad.

Her beautiful hair, is now streaked with grey

But she’s a grandma now

Time again for play

Gold, brown and now grey,

A life complete,

She’s seventy today,

And life is still sweet.
