THE ETERNAL AND THE END OF DAYS

 

How many times have we asked the question ‘WHY ME?’ Sometimes it is a joke, sometimes it is very serious. In this event it is overwhelming.

The ETERNAL has called us out of the world’s system, not because of any special virtue we have, to be part of the few. This is a promise made thousands of years ago that talks of us – and to us.

Deuteronomy 4:19 And when you look up to the sky and behold the sun and the moon and the stars, the whole heavenly host, you must not be lured into bowing down to them or serving them. There the ETERNAL your CREATOR allotted to other peoples everywhere under heaven.

The ETERNAL knows that we need to worship. If we do not seek out the truth and the simple way that our CREATOR has established for us to worship He has provided an alternative. The sun and the moon and the stars, for example, have been allotted to other nations. Islam is very much a moon worshipping faith. People who need to be bound up in nit-picking rules will find that the ETERNAL has provided a system for them, it’s called Judaism. Others worship a dead carpenter or versions of the old mystery religions dressed up for today’s market. Then there is witchcraft and whole galleries of g-ds to cover every eventuality. The ETERNAL puts the choice before you. You have chosen wisely, else you would not be reading this article.

Deuteronomy 4:20 but you the ETERNAL took and brought out of Egypt, that iron blast furnace, to be His very own people, as is now the case.

Being brought out of Egypt, that iron blast furnace, is to be taken out of the world’s system – out of the false faiths and systems. This is an awesome calling. Consider your position. The CREATOR of the Universe has chosen you to receive this revelation of His truth. You are one of His very own people. It has not been easy but the ETERNAL knew that as you will see.

Deuteronomy 4:27 The ETERNAL will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you shall be left among the nations to which the CREATOR will drive you. There you will serve man-made g-ds of wood and stone, that cannot see or hear or eat or smell.

This is not the multi-thousands gatherings of those other religious diversions. Most people will fail the tests and will disappear into the void of falsehood. This is for the few. Even in the Tanakh the writers have added the word generations, which is not in the Hebrew, where the word is thousands. There is a very big difference between ‘thousands’ compared with ‘thousands of generations’. The truth of how few we are is overwhelming. The ETERNAL is counting on each one of us to be prepared to share His truth and His ways of doing things as more of the ‘few’ are brought into our life.

Deuteronomy 4:29  But if you search for the ETERNAL your CREATOR, you will find Him, if only you seek Him with all your heart and soul – when you are in distress because of all these things have befallen you and, in the end, return to the ETERNAL your CREATOR and obey Him. For the ETERNAL is a compassionate CREATOR: He will not fail you nor will He let you perish; He will not forget the covenant which He made on oath with your fathers.

You are walking this walk because you have searched for the ETERNAL and found Him. We have all been through the fear, the anger, the hurt, the loss and the loneliness that precedes our arrival in this place of truth. In the end – doesn’t the world news look as if we are very near the end of days? – the ETERNAL is compassionate. Your obedience now will enable you to inherit the covenant blessings. You will not perish – He will not fail you. The ETERNAL is counting on your continuing obedience.
