Pour
Forth,
O Refining
Fire
***********************************************************************************
And the Qodesh Ruwach moved upon the face of my being. He breathed into my nostrils, the breath of life. From somewhere deep within the formless, empty, dark. void, a flutter, a wisp of smoke, the new tiny flame increased in intensity. The flames licked higher, grew hotter. The blazing fire must be released, but not extinguished, lest I die.
Pour forth, O refining fire.
Burn the dross, bring from me pure gold. As I writhe in pain, let a hand be laid upon my fevered brow but do not quench the fire, do not quench the fire. Sear, burn, set my entire being into a crucible of truth.
Then may I receive Your qodesh dabar. O come,
dwell within this weak and unworthy vessel. Allow this mortal to receive
the Immortal’s Fire.
Speak O Almighty YHWH, lay Your words upon my
tongue, that I may go forth sprinkling forth Your latter rain upon the
Brethren still lying cold, dark, dead, bereft of Your cleansing fire.
Cleanse us O YHWH. Let us not fear the fire. When those who lie so
still, so silent feel the fire blazing within, then shall we shout
above, Your Qodesh Name, then will the hills echo Your praise.
Pour forth, O refining fire.
Visit me, O mighty Malakh of YHWH, let me bow low
before you and hear of His ways. Have mercy Abba, lest I be consumed.
Send Your fire before me O YHWH
lest I stumble to rise no more, light my path, leave me not in the cold,
dark death.
Quiet my fears, dread causes my
bones to melt, my heart fails within me. You descend upon the fire, none
dare come close. Thunders, quakes and fire, cleanse me Father that I may
come near to You.
You, O YHWH are a devouring fire.
You refine and You destroy.
Let Your fire not be extinguished
upon this altar. I feed the fire the offerings of obedience, love, the
fat of the sacrifice to You O YHWH. I bring you offerings of peace
Father, send Your fire to consume this pride, envy, self righteousness,
vanity, sweep over me O Flame, cleanse, refine, remove the dross.
Protect me from the fire of Your
wrath. Lest Your anger be kindled and the fire burn even that which You
called good. I am Your breath Father, I am the breath You breathed in
Creation, please do not withdraw the breath from me.
In hours of distress I cry out to
You O Almighty, I weep before my Elohiym. You hear from Your Throne..
You allow my call to penetrate Your ears.
You shake the earth, the heavens
move before Your anger. Smoke rises from Your nostrils, the devouring
heat of Your mouth, kindles to life coals of fire.
You O YHWH, thundered from the heavens, You uttered Your voice and the depths trembled.
May Your doctrine drip as the
rain, Your speech, let it distill as the dew, as the gentle rain upon
the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
When You have tried me, my Abba, take me in Your strong arms and transport me on Your wings to the garden of Shalom.
