Shalom Sis Y,
This is a real threat to man and beast. Pray you have sounded the warning in
time to avert a catastrophe .Your work may prove to be a gift. May it not lack
for those ears that hear. What can I do to help? This is a parallel work I have
assembled.
What is all this hubbub about GMProducts?
G.M. (Genetically Modified) is a method to create products that are genetically
altered in the laboratory. These are patented products and in the biblical
sense, are not food. The prohibition is against what in Hebrew is called 'Kilayim'.
(Lev.19:19)
What in the world could be wrong with them?
If HIS word is not enough proof for you, lets consider other evidence.
This wonderful magic of camouflage.
The neighborhood supermarket is overflowing with these products. Because of the
political clout of the giant international corporations that profit from these
patented products, labeling has not been deemed necessary. The big beautiful red
tomato you see in the produce cart is probably NOT a true tomato but only looks
and tastes like what we need for food.
The good people who are in the food business are aware of the reasons people
choose to buy their products. The old adage which is popular in these circles,
is:
"people eat with their eyes first".
The producer who can deliver the biggest, reddest unspotted tomato will own the
market. This holds true with every sort of product whether it is apples,
zucchini, hamburger or borscht.
The alchemy delivered by the well financed laboratory provides this latest
wrinkle in creative packaging. Making it look 'perfect' to the consumer is as
important as our choosing the most enticing bait when we set out to catch a rat.
(What note do we take of the nutritional benefits of said bait?)
These folks are just as adept at disguising their products as they are handy at
verbal deception.
An inside report states:
".....almost all of the respondents indicated that they had observed some
level of transgene inaction. Many respondents indicated that most cases of
transgene inactivation never reach the literature."
This is a fine example of the ancient art of semantic deceit.
Restated in honest English it would read:
".... most farmers who raised Genetically Modified products found them to
actively contaminate their otherwise healthy food crops. These hard facts were
never reported in the industry literature."
It seems that hiding an ugly reality under what appears to be a seemingly
healthy cover is what these geneticists and their lackey press do best.
What is this that is called "transgenic contamination"?
Here again, this is insider jargon that means a confirmed and spreading
agricultural disaster. GMProducts have been cross breeding with not only healthy
food crops but with weeds. These Super Weeds have gained this manufactured
'inherent' immunity to normal herbicides. The weeds will win because they cannot
be successfully controlled and will choke out the healthy food crops.
This is a new and unusual threat to our food chain and will be able to grow
exponentially as long as it is ignored. For you in Yorba Linda this means it
grows at an ever accelerating rate.
Yeri...
what do you mean by 'His word is not enough proof for you'?
what are you
using for your support of "His word"?
:)dee
That is so discusting!!!! I sent this to everyone on my
list!!!!!!!! Ann
Shalom Dear dee,
Thanks for checkin' iss out:
Lev 19:19
19 "'Keep my decrees. "'Do not mate different kinds of animals.
"'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. "'Do not wear
clothing woven of two kinds of material.
(NIV)
Deut 22:9
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed
which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.
(KJV)
is this sufficient? I believe further study into the Hebrew words will more than
confirm this allegation.
Yeri
Gentlemen??
What a bunch of hogwash!
Do you really believe that Abraham and his sons, for example, did not
practice genetic engineering? Do you believe that he did NOT take the
best of the best of his sheep for reproduction in order to make his
sheep better?
Do you really believe that the early farmers of Israel and Judah and
Samaria, for example, did NOT save the largest and best grains of
cereals for the next year's plantings? Of course they did and practiced
genetic engineering in the process.
How, for example, do you think the American prehistory Indians were able
to take a one inch long ear of corn and turn it into the corn, or maize,
that we know today. By genetic engineering.
It is amazing how many people are against genetic engineering but want
the world's people to be fed. With no increase in arable land the only
way to increase production is thru genetic engineering.
Grow up and get some good common sense.

Shalom, your profound report prompted my to explore the topic
of mingled seed--and I discovered that this prohibition is linked to the donning
of tallit/tzitzit!
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse
kind: [thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed]: neither shall a garment
mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee. -Lev 19:19
Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith
thou coverest thyself. -Deut 22:11-12
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, [that ye may look upon it, and remember
all the commandments of the LORD], and do them; and that ye seek not after your
own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: -Numbers 15:39
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that [I will send a famine in the
land], not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words
of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to
the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not
find it. -Amos 8:11-12
Shalom, shalom,
Barth M. Lindemann
EXCELLENT! I love it! We do really need to be careful about
what we are
putting into our bodies and the bodies of our family. I happen to believe that
the
vast majority of these diseases, cancers, and syndromes we now see are a
result of our dysfunctional lifestyle. We're starving and we don't even realize
it,
because our diets are so nutritionally deficient. I was reading yesterday, it
has been found that Organic produce has MORe nutriative value than
conventionally grown produce (IE Frankenfood) thought the FF (for short) may
look
prettier and have much larger yields, it's nutrients are diluted. A co-op sounds
VERY good. I wonder if there is such a thing as a nationwide co-op. Perhaps we
should look into forming one if not.
Thanks for sending that YahChannah!! :-)

I am upset by all this. It is very hard to go to the store
and buy anything fit for human comsumption. I've banned canola oil, soybean oil,
hydrogenated oils, rapeseed oil, just to name a few. I try not to buy any beef
or chicken, pork has always been out. I don't drink milk, I now use organic rice
milk but I'm sure there is probably something wrong with that. As for fresh
fruits and vegetables I always try to buy organic but I've heard some bad things
about that too. I wish I had a solution to solve these problems because it's so
hard to go shopping. When I come home from shopping my husband says there's
nothing to eat. That's because everything I pick up I can't bring myself to feed
it to my family. If you have any suggestions, and certain places that are better
to shop at, I would appreciate it. I pregnant right now and I'm trying to make
sure I eat right. I'm ready to join the fight so if there is anything I can do
let me know. Thank you, Michelle

Shalom Michelle,
The response to this problem has been encouraging. You ask for a
solution but all we can offer at this juncture is the one we found 11 years ago.
We bought a small farm and began raising our own food. We both are disabled and
these last few years have taken a heavy toll on are ability to utilize these 50
ac effectively. Even our small garden has been given over to weeds. It is so sad
to see this good earth laying fallow. About a year ago we came to see that the
dreams we had of clean foods and a Torah obedient community were beyond our
reach. From time to time there are prospects for restoration but as yet to no
avail. We pray every day for young people who know sweat is the only equity to
come and join with us but the whole culture is flowing the opposite direction
and no one really seems to want to make that kind of commitment. Our children
and now our grandchildren see only the glitter of what seems to be gold. They
see us as just out of it...and really we are...Pray for two old dreamers, ok.
The only other option that I can see is finding enough people who want to eat
real food and having it shipped in from over seas. That would be fine except for
scale. We would need 10,000 families who were willing to order, wait and
pay a premium price. There are suppliers who now are raising clean food in this
country but not one of them has responded to this request as yet. We must have
faith in YHWH, He does know best.
Praise Him! HalleluYah about your developing baby!!!
YeriYah
I'm not sure where you live but maybe some of the people that
have responded can help you sow the land. I would be more than happy to help if
I'm close. It's sad to see that none of your family had the same dreams as you.
My husband and I have thought of buying land and growing our own. He says thats
the only way to be sure of what your eating. He tried to get some of his family
interested but like you, his family has their own ideas and just recently bought
houses in the city. We are in the process of selling our house but haven't had
any offers yet. Prayerfully we hope to sell soon.
Where would you import the food from?...Milly

Shalom again Milly,
We live in the northern part of Arkansas in the Ozarks. I
hope that is close to you folks. Importing grains and produce from Europe Via
air freight might prove possible but distribution state side might be unhandy.
We have access to a freezer van but that would prove costly on trips over a
hundred miles. If we were able to find a kosher butcher we have a contact in
Texas who raises prime grass fed beef. I should get back in touch with them but
do not want to make big plans and not deliver orders. What we seem to be up
against at this time is finding the scope of the need (demand) and when we do
filling it would be the next order of business.
Praying for people to wake up and begin obeying YHWH. If that happens we will
have many people to serve.

How genetically modified foods affect our lives: the hidden dangers
WASHINGTON (healthnewsreview) Genetically modified organisms (GMO) that
appear innocuous now can damage future generations because of the ways they
alter the balance of nutrients and species. GMOs such as seeds and plants
often have changes in a gene that codes for a protein that gives the plant
some unique benefit. Benefits include the ability to produce more chemicals to
fight infection, pests, or frosts; resistance to a pesticide or herbicide used
to kill other plants; higher production of a particular type of amino acid or
fat; or other benefit.
Scientists concerned about the side effects or potential dangers of GMOs
have concentrated on the genetic change itself, while ignoring more subtle
future impacts. For example, if a plant is given a new gene to produce a
protein to fight disease, scientists study whether the new disease-fighting
substances kill not only the disease, but other desirable species as well.
They do not study whether slight shifts in the plants biochemistry lead to a
slight shift in nutrients that lead to a slight shift in animals that feed on
the plant, and so on.
Wolfenbarger and Phifer wrote in Science that [A] review of existing
scientific literature reveals that key experiments on both the environmental
risks and benefits of GMOs like plants are lacking. Testing for the
undesirable consequences of the new substances produced by the GMO is
extremely expensive and difficult. It involves looking for an effect that we
cannot predict and that may take 50 years to show up. GMOs pose a danger that
is even more difficult to identify. A GMO alters the way the plant produces
some substance(s). The inevitable (but often overlooked) result is that the
production of other substances is also altered. Once the biochemical pathways
of the plant are modified, everything the plant makes is changed. Major
changes can be noticed, but minor changes may remain unknown for years. The
plant may produce a toxic substance in far greater quantities than it used to
produce, but we may not find it because we do not measure every substance
produced by the plants. Most plants have substances toxic to humans and other
species, but often in trivial (small) amounts. It is practically impossible to
know whether a GMO plant has substantially identical composition to the
original plant. If we add one chemical to a food, we know that it has that one
chemical; if we add a gene, we may end with the chemical directly produced by
that gene, and thousands of chemicals indirectly produced by the plant due to
its altered biochemistry. Even if the gene for production of that substance is
not changed, the expression or activity of the gene may change. As a minimum,
the relative quantities of nutrients in the plant will change. Species that
rely on that plant (microorganisms, animals, etc.) will have their composition
altered because they are eating a different ratio of nutrients. Reproduction
and development (growth) of many species will be altered because they are
dependent on a particular mixture of nutrients. Changing the ratio of
nutrients likely changes their development. The effects may be small from one
generation to another and it may take many years before we see the effects.
For example, it was once thought that some groups of people in America were
short because of their genes. However, when these people were fed healthy
diets over a period of many years, they slowly began to grow. Mothers became
slightly bigger. Their larger body size could grow a slightly bigger fetus.
The new baby was bigger, grew to be a larger adult, and could grow an even
bigger baby. After several generations, the adults became the same size as
people in the US. The reason these people were short was that nutritional
deficiencies impaired their growth. Once they were small, they were unable to
produce larger-size babies even if they were well fed, because the uterus
could not expand to fit a large baby. However, after many years of eating
healthy foods, they were able to adapt and grow to normal size.
These issues raise an often understated danger of GMOs for food
production and health. An imbalance in the food supply may lead to subtle
changes in body size. Each generation could be smaller. Or could have a
smaller brain. Or smaller feet. We do not know and may not know for many
years, and by that time it would be too late.
Is there a real need for GMOs? The decisions to produce GMO can be based
on faulty science. Years ago, some scientists thought that monounsaturated
fatty acids (MUFAs) were healthy and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) were
harmful. Foods with PUFAs oxidize quickly and have short life spans on
supermarket shelves (they get rancid). Therefore, scientists decided to take
some common seeds and change them to produce more MUFAs and fewer PUFAs. After
many years, they succeeded and today we can grow many plants that produce more
MUFAs and less PUFAs. Unfortunately, just when farmers were ready to produce
many more seeds with more MUFAs and less PUFAs, recent research has shown that
eating MUFAs is associated with heart disease, while PUFAs protect against
heart disease. Tinkering with nature and trying to imitate God is too
difficult a job.
The dangers of GMO foods are many. They may produce toxic substances to
humans, pets or other species. They may alter the balance of nutrients in the
environment and slowly change the growth and development of species. They
could make us dumber or reduce our life expectancy. Nobody knows and it is
impossible to find out because one would need to make studies over a period of
50+ years.
Moral (essentialfats.com). Let the buyer beware. If your soybean oil
starts acting strange (solidifying in the refrigerator, for example), or
eating your leftovers, we think the risk is not worth it and throw it away.
Even worse, if you notice that your kids start acting strange, or your pets
drop dead, you really have problems. Unfortunately, you are unlikely to notice
any problems because the side effects of genetically modified foods may take
generations to be noticed. There are very few reasons to have genetically
modified foods. Instead, we should consider more organic farming and eating
less. Many people are overweight; eating less is the best way to live longer
and healthier as well as saving money. References Froding, J, Sigler, J. Test

I reaffirm what I said previously. This has been done by farmers for
hundreds (thousands) of years. Discovering the best crop, altering it
for specific adaptations. Has anyone been harmed in the process? No!
A person with a food allergy does not count in this, because it is
their body rejecting the food, not the food harming the body. Nothing
is pure anymore. Except maybe if you grow your own food. But even
then, the seeds could be from altered crops. California feeds the
world. If a tomato couldn't last 3 days in contianment to ship half
way around the world, what would you say then? My point is this mass
fear is unwarranted.
Shalom SW,
Isn't a farmer just one phase of our modern food gathering and distribution
system?
Consider this parallel for a moment;
the method designed by YHWH to recycle and purify our water is accomplished via
a marvelous evaporation process. The water we use is the same water that was
here from before time was counted. The fecal matter and accompanying bacterial
contamination would have rendered all water polluted to the point of poison
thousands of years ago. This process is stable, secure and very economical
because the designer is a bit smarter than the average bleary eyed beer drinker.
Now consider the problem of drought. Much of the world has been rendered
fallow because of the lack of rain( the result of insufficient ocean
evaporation). People are starving because of the inability of those regions to
produce food crops. So if we should find a way to chemically or atomically
alter the water molecule to hasten the ability of evaporation and implement it,
then, If the effect of this alteration would render the water fine for crops
making the deserts bloom... but this new water was found unfit for human
consumption, would you deem this the problem of the local water works? Why
wouldn't laying the GMPRODUCTS contamination problem on the farmer be just as
ludicrous. Altered forms of food has been shown to be crossing with natural
foods contaminating our whole food supply, do we arrest farmers for what ADM and
their ilk has foisted on us?
SW, you may see this as having no victims but how do you know that the ADD
(attention deficit disorder) or the spread of Parkinson's in young people or the
rise in early onset dementia are not results of the chemical roulette we're
playing?
YHWH designed things very well, why do you think mortal man can do better than
He has?

Organics for Health
A Chapter from the Independent Science Report, The Case for a GM-Free
Sustainable World www.indsp.org
Here's some of the evidence that Sir John Krebs, Head of UK's Food Standards
Agency refuses to acknowledge in his persistent denigration of organic
agriculture.
Less chemical residues
A comprehensive Soil Association review of scientific research has shown that,
on average, organic food is better for us than non-organic food [1]. First, it
is safer, as organic farming prohibits routine pesticide and herbicide use, so
chemical residues are rarely found. In contrast, non-organic food is likely to
be contaminated with residues that often occur in potentially dangerous
combinations. The British Society for Allergy, Environmental and Nutritional
Medicine states on the back cover of the report: "We have long believed the
micronutrient deficiencies common in our patients have their roots in the
mineral-depletion of soils by intensive agriculture, and suspect that pesticide
exposures are contributing to the alarming rise in allergies and other
illnesses" (italics added).
The negative effects of pesticides on health include neurotoxicity, disruption
of the endocrine system, carcinogenicity and immune system suppression. The
impacts of dietary exposure to pesticide residues at levels typically found in
and on food are less easy to establish, but a precautionary approach is
necessary. While there are recommended safety levels for pesticides, the UK
government's own tests have shown that average residue levels on foods may be
under-reported.
Research has also suggested that pesticide exposure affects male reproductive
function, resulting in decreased fertilising ability of the sperm and reduced
fertilisation rates [2]. Correspondingly, members of a Danish organic farmers'
association, whose intake of organic dairy products was at least 50% of total
intake of dairy products, had high sperm density [3]. In another study, sperm
concentration was 43.1% higher among men eating organically produced food [4].
Children, in particular, may stand to benefit from organic food. Scientists
monitored preschool children in Seattle, Washington to assess their exposure to
organophosphorus (OP) pesticide from diet [5]. The total dimethyl metabolite
concentration was approximately six times higher for children with conventional
diets than those with organic diets. The calculated dose estimates suggest that
consumption of organic fruits, vegetables and juice can reduce children's
exposure levels from above to below the US Environmental Protection Agency's
guidelines, thereby shifting exposures from a range of uncertain risk to a range
of negligible risk. The study concluded that consumption of organic produce
could be a relatively simple way for parents to reduce children's exposure to OP
pesticides.
Healthier and more nutritious
Additionally, organic food production bans the use of artificial food additives
such as hydrogenated fats, phosphoric acid, aspartame and monosodium glutamate,
which have been linked to health problems as diverse as heart disease,
osteoporosis, migraines and hyperactivity [1].
Furthermore, while plants extract a wide range of minerals from the soil,
artificial fertilisers replace only a few principal minerals. There is a clear
long-term decline in the trace mineral content of fruit and vegetables, and the
influence of farming practices needs to be investigated more thoroughly. The
Soil Association review [1] found that on average, organic food has higher
vitamin C, higher mineral levels and higher phytonutrients - plant compounds
that can fight cancer (see later) - than conventional food.
Conventional produce also tends to contain more water than organic produce,
which contains more dry matter (on average, 20% more) for a given total weight
[1]. Thus, the higher cost of fresh organic produce is partly offset by
purchasers of conventional produce paying for the extra weight of water and
getting only 83% of the nutrients, on average, available in organic produce. The
higher water content also tends to dilute nutrient content.
Tests with people and animals eating organic food show it makes a real
difference to health, and alternative cancer therapies have achieved good
results relying on the exclusive consumption of organic food. The review [1]
cites recent clinical evidence from doctors and nutritionists administering
"alternative" cancer treatments, who have observed that a completely
organic diet is essential for a successful outcome. Nutritional cancer therapies
avoid pollutants and toxins as much as possible, and promote exclusive
consumption of organically grown foods and increases in nutrient intakes. Animal
feeding trials have also demonstrated better reproductive health, better growth,
and better recovery from illness.
A literature review of 41 studies and 1 240 comparisons [6] found statistically
significant differences in the nutrient content of organic and conventional
crops. This was attributed primarily to differences in soil fertility management
and its effects on soil ecology and plant metabolism. Organic crops contained
significantly more nutrients -vitamin C, iron, magnesium and phosphorus - and
significantly less nitrates (a toxic compound) than conventional crops. There
were non-significant trends showing less protein in organic crops. However,
organic crops were of a better quality and had higher content of nutritionally
significant minerals, with lower amounts of some heavy metals compared to
conventional ones.
Helping fight cancer
Plant phenolics (flavonoids) are plant secondary metabolites thought to protect
plants against insect predation, bacterial and fungal infection and
photo-oxidation. These plant chemicals have been found to be effective in
preventing cancer and heart disease, and to combat age-related neurological
dysfunctions. A recent scientific paper [7, 8] compared the total phenolic (TP)
content of marionberries, strawberries and corn grown by organic and other
sustainable methods with conventional agricultural practices. Statistically
higher levels of TPs were consistently found in organically and sustainably
grown foods as compared to those produced by conventional agriculture.
An earlier study comparing antioxidant compounds in organic and conventional
peaches and pears established that an improvement in the antioxidant defence
system of the plants occurred as a consequence of organic cultivation practices
[9]. This is likely to exert protection against fruit damage when grown in the
absence of pesticides. Hence organic agriculture, which eliminates the routine
use of synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilisers, could create conditions
favourable to the production of health-enhancing plant phenolics.
These and many other health benefits of organic foods have been brought to the
attention of the UK government [10, 11]. Among the issues raised are the hidden
costs of conventional agriculture, which are not factored into the price. If
hidden costs were taken into account, conventionally produced food would prove
more expensive than organic food. For example, avoidance of the BSE epidemic
through organic farming would have saved £4.5 billion. No animal born and
raised on an organic farm developed BSE in the UK.

What farmers of the past have done is to take 5 packs of
playing cards and to bias the decks so that a more desirable hand is the result.
They did not create new "kinds" of cards, like 11's, 12's, and
Chambermaids. What farmers MIGHT justifiably be accused of is enforcing
incest in the reproductive process. Fortunately for them, the Creator's
commands regarding human sexual reproduction with family do not apply to
animals.
What scientists are doing with GM foods is akin to holding up a hand (in a card
game) where one of the cards is a tiddly-wink, another is the hat piece from a
Monopoly board and another is a Knight, snatched from a promising Check-Mate.
You can't expect to win a game of Poker with that sort of hand.
All pre-GM corn had two parents that were pre-GM corns. A backwards
time-traveler could have ultimately traced the parentage back to some natural
corn type. A farmer never put a pig into a pen with a stalk of corn or a
tomato and said, "Now breed!"
IF we had the prescient knowledge of the Creator, we would be justified in
splicing together the genes of two different "kinds" of creation, as
He has made us co-creators in just about all other areas. We do NOT have
that knowledge, so we will reap what we sow. Woe to us.
--Uziyahu
Oh, you can add this, too...
"May YHWH our Mighty One curse every scientist mixing 'kinds' with the
worst of these plagues he has created."
After all, if THEY do not know better, who would?
